Smartphone Usage 2012 Report Says Smartphone Use Reaches 50%

Do you ever wonder how many people use smartphones? Do you have a smartphone now or are you just thinking about getting one or trying to find more information?

It looks like just about half of all adults in the United States now own a cell phone that they consider a smartphone. According to the study on smartphone usage posted by comparesmartphones.info, 49% of adults surveyed by Pew Internet Research said their phone is on a smartphone network and 46% say their phone itself is a smartphone. This is up significantly from the 1/3 or so (33%) who reported having a smartphone cell phone a year earlier.

The flipside? If half of adults own a smartphone, and most adults own cell phones, that also means around half of adults own a non smartphone cell phone.
